Meanwhile, word that the Maria will not be returning to New Zealand’s ASB Classic this January has made waves around the tennis community.
Instead, Sharapova will prepare for the Australian Open by heading to the Brisbane International – this move upgrades her winnings as the tournament has been deemed premier status by the WTA.
